GE achieves strong partnership with Nordwaggon
When does a customer-supplier relationship change to a true partnership?
One good example is when businesses like Nordwaggon and GE put their heads together to come up with solutions to help provide the most cost effective of rail car freighting services.
Headquartered for Europe in Sweden, Nordwaggon’s General Manager says, “The agreement we have just reached with GE means growing our business with them by over 12% and makes them our biggest partner in the supply of rail freight wagons. We are well positioned for planned growth into Eastern Europe and see the partnership we’ve developed with GE over recent years as extremely important to that planned growth.”
GE’s Rail Services team in Frankfurt lead the team that are assigned to partnering with Nordwaggon. Says Willem Goosen, GE’s Sales Director for Europe on the Rail Services business, “At GE we work hard to add value to our customer’s needs and always strive to develop true partnerships. It’s a win win situation when we can help to increase productivity. Gaining the trust of people we do business with only comes with a consistent dedication to understanding exactly what will benefit the customer’s business. Our developing relationship with Nordwaggon is a perfect example of such a partnership.”
Nordwaggon is very progressive in its approach to rail logistics and has developed many exceptional services, including "Single Trip". This is aimed at customers who need to access modern cargo wagons as soon as the need arises. A fixed price is agreed to include loading and unloading, plus estimated transport time. This helps to keep the base-price as low as possible to increase rail transport competitiveness. Nordwaggon also has an integrated IT-system with on-line connections to all major railway operators.
